Nov 27
Interesting to see how the girls
would play in a consolation game instead
of the semi's which they played good
enough to make. In the first half they
came out focused against a California
South team preferring a one touch attack
which didn't result in a score. In the
second half they raced to the finish
putting on a clinic with great movement
and shots. Nemesis 2-0. |

Nov 25
Its November and 70 degrees and a
beautiful day, this must be Vegas. The
Nemesis showed up to face the Heat FC
from NV. After the nerves shook off FCSC
took control and put 2 goals in the back
of the net during the first half. The
Heat, not to be outdone, scored right
out the gate in the second half but the
the Nemesis D took over. FCSC put a
final touch with a late goal and 3-1
victory. |
Nov 26
game 1
Another beautiful day. The girls
showed up to play this day. The got
caught off guard early when a speedy
left winger crashed the goal and put the
ball just passed the keeper. The Nemesis
had 4 or 5 chances to tie but couldn't
find the net. Good competition on the
other sidelines. Nemesis loss 1-0.
game 2
The second game of the day was
against Utah. Small in stature big in
heart. Especially their goalie. The
Nemesis attack was fierce in both
halves. Relentless pounding of their
keeper with the ball proved useless as
she stopped every shot. Tied 0-0. |
|
 |
Nov 5
Final game for the season. Lake
Oswego was the opponent on a mellow day.
As the whistle blew to start the game
the Nemesis came out attacking. In the
first 5 minutes FCSC put a slow roller
past LO's keeper for a 1-0 lead. Early
in the second half LO turned up the heat
attacking relentlessly only to be turned
back time after time. Eventually they
got the equalizer on a deflection off a
Nemesis player. FCSC fought hard to the
final whistle only to miss a few great
opportunities. Tied 1-1. |

Oct 29
THUSC came into Felida with a 8 game
unbeaten streak. They may have left with
a win but the Nemesis did put on a show.
Ball handling, goal tending, and defense
were sharp but there was no site of
scoring. Empty net, point blank, from a
far didnt matter as FCSC missed every
shot they took. THUSC managed to make
one of their three shots for a 1-0
victory. |
Oct 30
What a rival FC Portland has become
for us. Especially with the addition of
one Maddie. This makes the game tough
and emotional for all involved. Not to
mention that they beat the Nemesis early
1-0.The Nemesis didnt wait to get the
scoring started. They jumped out to a
1-0 lead due to the pressure put on by
the forwards and the misplay by the
defense and goalie. FC Portland show
strength by countering early in the
second half with a score. In the end the
forwards provided the spark and lifted
FCSC to a 2-1 victory. |

Oct 23
EMFC again? Yep. As in the first
game and the NWCL the Nemesis went up
early. The defense held really tight the
whole game. Then there was the ref who
called a great save by Jessie a goal
late in the game. Good battle between
two good teams. Ended in a 1-1 draw. |
Oct 24
Trying to revenge a loss to Bend
would not be easy as they are big and
physical with a 6 foot goalie. The
Nemesis went down early on a PK 1-0 but
struck back with 2 quick goals for a 2-1
lead. Then the Nemesis feeling cheery
about the holiday season put a goal in
for them to knot the score at 2 a piece.
In the end there was to much Nemesis in
a 4-2 win. |
|
 |
Oct 15
WUSC was on the plate for this game.
After a tough victory in the first
matchup against them anything could
happen. In this game everything went
well for the Nemesis. An early goal in
the first half put FCSC up 1-0. The
shots kept on coming however none of the
balls felt like crossing the goal line.
The second half was more of the same
with the exception of the ball
cooperating. The Nemesis put 3 more
goals into the net for a 4-0 win. |

Oct 8
NWCL 2nd RD
To move through to the finals round
the Nemesis had to go 1-1-1. Day 1
brought Seattle's Eastside and EMFC.
In the first game the Nemesis came out
chasing the ball as Eastside moved the
ball very well. In their true
competitive spirit FCSC battled through
it and started gaining more control of
the wet ball. Alyssa put in a one timer
from the top of the 18 to give the
Nemesis the win and shutout. This was
the win we needed.
The second game was against EMFC who
we seem to be meeting quite often. As in
the previous 3 games FCSC took the lead
first on Jessica's open net goal. To
follow suit EMFC battle back in the
closing minutes to put a score on the
board. This was the tie that put us
through to the next round. |
Oct 9
The final game of the weekend put us
against crossfire. Big name, big kids,
and lets not forget big game.
Crossfire came out swing with alot of
ball movement over the top. FCSC was
back on their heels struggling to gain
good possession so they could attack.
That was the story of the first half.
In the second half the Nemesis found
some internal strength and recognized
that they could move the ball against
crossfire; Up, down, to the corners. In
the end the inability to clear a ball
bouncing inside the 18 did the Nemesis
in but they showed tremendous
competitive energy and left with their
heads up.
With a 1-1-1 record through the
weekend the Nemesis push through to the
finals round in December. |
 |
Oct 1
When the clouds split and the sun
shined through, it was time for the
Nemesis to face Oregon Rush. This game
was a story of missed opportunities as
the Nemesis baraged the goal with shots
coming up empty on all but 1 attempt. In
the end Oregon Rush handed FCSC a 2-1
loss. |
Oct 2
We all hoped the rain would hold up
and for the most part the heavens did
their job. The girls did their job
bouncing back from a difficult loss
yesterday to hand Eastside a 5-0 loss.
This is a confidence boost leading in
this weekends NWCL games. |
 |
Sept 24
Going into this game with 14 players
the team had 5 kids still recovering
from colds. Didn't matter as they had to
put on their game faces and get to
business. In the early going the Nemesis
applied great pressure pound the WUSC
goalie with plenty of shots. As the game
went on the girls movement was less than
desired until WUSC scored. That woke up
the Nemesis and they immediately
responded with a goal for 2-1 victory. |
Sept 25
Every game in this league is
competitive especially vs EMFC who has
whacked us the last 3 halves we played
against them. In the first half the
Nemesis poured it on EMFC with a barrage
of shots and headers leading to two
goals. The second half EMFC poured it on
the Nemesis who gave up two goals. The
difference was a converted free kick
with 2 minutes left in the
game...Nemesis win 3-2. |
 |
|
Sept 17
Sometimes the calls go your way
sometimes they don't. Sometimes the ball
bounces your way and other times it
doesn't. That was the story against Lake
Oswego. This game ended in a 2-2 tie
after a goal was erased by an offsides
and the wet grass provided an awkward
skid which allow a goal against the
Nemesis. However we did show heart
scoring in the final 10 seconds to pull
out a tie. |
Sept 18
Today was a battle for the top spot
in the bracket vs FC Portland. A
competitive game with light rain is
perfect NW soccer conditions. The girls
put on a clinic in the first half
putting combination passes with stellar
defense to keep FC Portland on their
heels. However no balls ended up in the
back of the net. The difference was a
bounce from a corner kick off a header
onto the foot of FC Portland. Tough loss
after a great battle. 0-1. |

Opening Weekend for Fall Soccer -
Sep 10
Fall soccer has finally started
and....what its 95 degrees out. The
Nemesis started the season shorthanded
with only 13 only players but notched
another shutout verse Eastside. The
first half was a story of missed
opportunities for the Nemesis however
the second half was more of whats
expected. Krystal started off the
scoring followed by Julianne and Kiani.
The defense joined the offensive surge
throughout the game while pitching the
shutout 3-0. |
Sept 11
The second game of the of the
weekend was against THUSC. Old foe same
results. It was another hot day but
somehow the girls managed to still put
heart into the game. Mackenzie scored
the only goal of the game midway through
the second half. Whit, Brit, Cece,
Court, and Jess provided a defensive gem
as the Nemesis pulled out a 1-0 victory.
Great job Tina and Gary. |

2011 NWCL
WEEKEND 1 (Portland) -
Aug 27-28
The Nemesis came to play this
weekend. With the tough competition and
extreme heat they exhausted every last
bit of energy in closing out wins
against the Timbers, FC Nova and
Issaquah Gunners. All were top quality
teams with a good future. This go 'round
the Nemesis were victorious and the only
team in the U12 bracket to win all 3
games. |

of their 12 goals. |

2011 NMHC
-
Aug 19-21
On paper we faced the number 2 team
in the state and the NW Regional Semi
Finalist. On the scoreboard we ended up
with a 1-0 loss in the finals. This
tournament goes to show that the Nemesis
do not back down to anybody. These girls
play with heart and passion.
Congratulations Nemesis on making it to
the finals. |

2011 MUSTANG
SURPRISE-
Aug 5-7
Do not let anybody fool you, heart does
matter. The Nemesis went down to
California in the pre-assigned Bracket
of Death and held strong. Not
disrespecting the teams we faced because
they were phenomenal but our defense was
up to the task. A 87 minute goal in the
first game from 40 yards out and 2
horrible calls in the last game were the
difference between two potential ties
and two defeats. The Mustang got us this
year but if there is a next year we will
be more informed. |

BATTLE IN
SEATTLE II
June 17-19
Puyallup was the destination and the
Nemesis were the main attraction. They
stood out not only because of their
yellow uniforms but their aggression and
pinpoint passing was beyond their age.
Coaches and parents that had no stake in
the game came to check them out. This
tournament had everything from bad
calls, aggressive battles to skillful
resilience and a PK shootout to move on
to the semi finals. In the end the
Nemesis lost a dramatic 3-2 game to
Seattle United in the Semi Finals but a
call here and a different bounce there
proved to be all the difference. |

The girls celebrate after
clinching a spot
in the semifinals with a 3-1 PK shootout
victory over Crossfire.

BATTLE IN
SEATTLE I
May 29-30
The girls came up huge, in the 2011
Starfire Memorial Day Cup, pitching
shutouts against teams from Seattle and
Canada. All the new players stepped up
and contributed. The team appeared to
gel well. This is going to be a huge
confidence boost. |

The Nemesis
welcome five new players this year to
their roster. With the added size and
speed combined with the experience and
grit from the returning players this
will be an interesting season. |

For the second year of the teams
existence its time to bump up the level
of competition and commitment. After
great success in Oregon the team will be
traveling to Seattle twice, California,
and Nevada to play in tournaments that
usually attract some of the best teams
from the western region. The road will
not be easy but the experience will be
invaluable. |
